Jumping June – FUNDRAISING

For Jumping June I have been fundraising. I fundraised about $650. I got $500 dollars from my dads work. I went around the block and got some money, and I did some jobs at my nanas house. I fundraised the second most amount of money in Rawhiti school! I had really fun fundraising. My fundraising goal was to raise $1,500, if I raised that much money then I could get a Nintendo Switch. But I didn’t raise that much money so I can’t get a Switch😭. I think fundraising for the heart foundation is really fun.

Have you ever done Jumping June fundraising?

Jumping June – THE SKIPPING

For Jumping June we have to do skipping. Today while I was skipping I learned how to do criss-cross properly, ad I also learned how to do double, triple… And so on criss-cross skipping. To do criss-cross doubles you have to keep your hand wrapped around your body, and try to skip. It took me a while to get used to it, because you get all tangled and so something WHIP yourself! For triple, quad… criss-cross you just wrap your hands around your body for longer. The longer your hands are wrapped around for, the more criss-crosses you do.

Has your school ever done Jumping June?

Te Reo Maori – Canva

On Thursday afternoons, we learn te reo Māori. This term, we have been learning commands and words to use in our classroom – akomanga.

We have been practising our te reo Māori by creating a Canva slideshow, a play, a comic or a Google slideshow with motes.

I chose to work on a Canva slideshow.

I think I did a good job because my group worked well together, and we put in voice overs.

Did you learn anything from this Canva??

EPro 8

For EPro 8 competition practice we have made a caveman car with @rsjoelf @rsmattisk @rsjacquelinef @rsgeordier. It was really fun, we had to put on lots of wires and lots of metal bars, and connecters.

Have you ever done EPro 8 at your school?

My Silhouette

For art we have been making silhouettes. I made a sprint starter silhouette with a blue background. First we had to do a scribble on paper. Then we coloured in the gaps in the scribble with pastel. Third we had to colour in the silhouette in black so that it was darker. Finally we had to cut out the silhouette and stick it on the paper with the colour on it.

Have you ever made a silhouette before???

ASB Get Wi$e

On the 9th of May and the 22nd 2024 of May we have been doing money for maths!!! it’s really fun

For session one we did a “ca$h plan”. A cash plan has 4 different steps. The first step is to make a Clear Goal. I really want a Nintendo Switch. It would be about $690-$710. The next step is to take Action. I thought to save money I could enter a prize draw, or do chores, or sell things, or wash a car, or mow lawns. I thought that would make me about $80 a month and I thought that was pretty decent. The third step is to Save and spend. I thought I should save all of it and spent none of it. The final step is to predict How long it will take.I predicted that it will take about 9 months. If you look at all the red letters it says CASH.

For session 2 we did “the 3 $teps”, it helps you have an idea on what job to get. It has 3 steps of course. The first step is to list down your strengths I put Technology, Games, Sport, Independence, Art, Writing, Reading, & Music. The second step is to solve what you will need. The things I could sell are pictures, websites, & books. Things that I could host are a band, & a sports game. The final step is to start your job. I thought I could make a website and call it XX Technology, I would put on tutorials and other things to help people on techno and how to code. I would need a computer, a mouse, and a keyboard. The next job is an art museum, I thought I could call it Wacks Museum. I would need paper frames, and pens/pencils. The next thing I thought I could do is a car wash, I thought it could be called crying carwash. I would need a sponge, some soap, and a hose.

Have you ever had Get Wi$e at your school??

I hope you enjoyed my blog post!!

CRT – PE

For CRT week 3 with Matt we have been working on Strategy and Tactics. We played capture the flag and dodgeball.  I learned that in capture the flag it is important to have positions, my team had 4 positions; Defense, Attack, Rescuers, & midfielders just tagging and other stuff like that. I played in attack and it was really fun because I like running around. For dodgeball I learned that you should try to catch the ball so that you don’t get down, or in some dodgeballs versions you might be able to get someone down.

Have you ever played Capture the Flag or Dodgeball??

Monday Mashup – iMovie Trailer

For Monday mashup Urmi’s group has been doing movie trailers. In my group I have 4 people including me, We had Kieran, Jake, Ianto, and Me.

First we had to plan it so we talked about what it wanted to be about and then we made a decision.

Next we started to film it and we took photos and videos. There were 4 types of photos; Short, Wide, Long, and Group.

Me and my group worked together by communicating and negotiating. Next time we make a movie trailer we probably should make the movie trailer flow better. To make it flow better we could not put in random pictures of are group doing really weird dramatic things.

Have you made an iMovie trailer before?

Analogue Time – Maths

For math we have been doing time, I made an analogue clock bout it looks like a number line and it says what I do from 8 – 9.
